Now accepting new clients.
Hi, my name is Anisha! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University, where I focused my studies on Clinical Mental Health and Interpersonal Violence and Trauma. Prior to graduate school, I attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and minoring in Criminal Justice. I have more than 11 years of experience in healthcare, working with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
My passion to work in the healthcare field has been ever present since I was an adolescent. Having grown up in New Delhi, India, I partook in various volunteer opportunities which included teaching young children English, supporting displaced families while providing resources and psycho-education on topics ranging from healthcare needs, personal hygiene, emotional, social and financial resources. The support I was able to offer and the appreciation that came with it, filled my heart with humility. From then on returning to New Jersey for undergraduate studies I knew I wanted to work in the Mental Health Care Field.
Having the distinctive experience of being brought up in the United States and India provided me with an unique and profound understanding of the need for Mental Health Care Services. While growing up in a South Asian household and observing my family tackle mental health care services while not having the appropriate resources nor guidance at the time of need. Observing, learning and understanding my family’s challenges to gain support and resources strengthened my resolve to be a Clinician. In the hopes that I could be a voice of change and spread awareness about the strength behind seeking support rather than the stigma attached to it. While also giving me the opportunity to be a voice for those who cannot or do not know how to advocate for themselves. As a clinician, I strive to honor and support clients to learn and strengthen their core being. Also providing a strengths based perspective to empower and encourage growth and change. My approach is to facilitate an alliance which allows for individuals to feel comfortable, heard and understood while providing clear, concise and collaborative care. It also doesn’t hurt to laugh a little as we work on treatment narratives! My motto working with clients is “Life is tough but we are tougher given the opportunity, encouragement and empowerment to come together as a team and face challenges!” 🙂
