Marcia Reyes, LCSW, Founder/Owner

Hello, I’m Marcia. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree from Rutgers University, specializing in clinical practice and developmental disabilities. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kean University. With over 15 years of experience in healthcare, I provide compassionate support to adults, families, and children.

My commitment to helping others began early in life, volunteering at a nursing home where I found joy in connecting with residents and staff—listening to their stories and sharing in the excitement of games like bingo and Pokeno. These formative experiences sparked my passion for compassionate care and meaningful relationships.

Growing up as part of an immigrant family from the Caribbean, I witnessed firsthand both the unique and universal challenges faced by families navigating new cultural landscapes. This perspective deepened my understanding of how immigration impacts emotional well-being and inspired me to become a therapist dedicated to supporting others through similar journeys. I value cultural humility, patience, and empathy, and strive to foster self-advocacy, clarity, and resilience in every session—always bringing a sense of humor to create a welcoming environment.

With extensive clinical experience, I work with children, adolescents, and families in individual, family, and group therapy settings. My areas of focus include ADHD, anger management, anxiety, behavioral concerns, chronic pain, feeding therapy, depression, intergenerational trauma, racial identity, trauma, and adjustment to life stressors.

I am passionate about empowering clients to embrace their strengths, gain insight, and navigate challenges with confidence. If you are seeking a therapist who understands the importance of cultural sensitivity and holistic support, I look forward to partnering with you on your path to healing and growth.

As I grew older, I realized the uniqueness — yet commonality — of my family’s journey as immigrants from the Caribbean. I recognized how the experience impacted many aspects of our emotional well-being and how other families may also be impacted but do not seek support. This is what motivated me to become a therapist. My experiences remind me of the importance of practicing cultural humility, patience, and understanding in a therapeutic setting. I aim to encourage self-advocacy skills, clarity, and strength, and I always bring a sense of humor to client sessions.
